I must confess, I had a large portion of my daughter's chocolate Easter Bunny. I thought it was very good. I took a closer look at the box and discovered it was manufactured in the Big Easy. I was delighted to find that out. I will start looking for the Merlin Candies name when I make my purchases.
I just spoke to a relative of mine that lives in Marrero. Her sons live in Harvey & Mandeville. I know things are not the same down there since Katrina.
I have fond memories of my visits to the Crescent City. I hope to bring my family for a visit sometime.

We have seven children and our oldest son has a peanut allergy. Buying candy for Easter and Christmas is always a pain because there are so many things he cannot have and I try to but things that everyone can eat. Imagine my surprise when my husband and I were shopping for Easter at Walmart this year and we found a large chocolate bunny that had these magical words on the box, "manufactured in a peanut free facility"! We never get to buy the big bunnies! We were so pleased! I have never heard of your company and I am wondering where we can find more? We could not find anything else labeled this way. Even Hershey chocolates are inconsistent with their labeling, some things have a peanut warning and some things don't. I thank you so much! More companies need to be aware of this growing allergy! So again, a big thank you, from my son as well!

I just wanted to send a note to you and your team for making our Easter a very happy one. My son is allergic to peanuts and we have finally found a super-large chocolate Easter bunny for him that is safe.

I have a five and a half year old daughter who is extremely allergic to peanuts. For the last four years, she begged for a “huge chocolate bunny” for Easter but has never received one because her father and I could not find one that did not have a peanut warning listed on the label. Today, I found your 36oz chocolate bunny at Wal-Mart! Thank you so much! I think I’m more excited about buying it than my daughter will be eating it. I know it may seem silly, but I cannot express to you how happy I am to FINALLY fulfill one of my daughter’s wishes.

I just wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU for being peanut free!! As a mom of a 6-year old with a peanut allergy, I have been searching every possible store for a hollow chocolate bunny that would be safe for our daughter. I cannot believe that after all the places I searched, it was Walgreen's where I finally found your chocolate bunny!
I was so excited when I saw the big "manufactured in a peanut free facility" logo on the back that I let out a little yelp that made people stop and look at me like I was insane! I bought one for each of our three kids (our 6-year old daughter and 4-year old twins), and then called everybody I know to tell them about my find. This will be the first year when our kids will have a big hollow bunny like everybody else! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You will be putting a big smile on our kids' faces this Easter!
